After flooding the market with mediatek powered budget quad core phones,the Indian manufacturer xolo is finally going to step up the competition by releasing its first smartphone to feature the Tegra 3 SOC by Nvidia .The processor of the device is clocked at 1.5GHz ,and has a 12 core Nvidia ULP Geforce GPU .The smartphone will have 4.7-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 720X1280 pixels and pixel density of 312ppi.
Xolo Play will run on Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean). For camera, there is an 8-megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor and a 2-megapixel front snapper. The smartphones comes with a 2,000mAh battery on board. The rear camera also supports 1080pixel video recording.
Xolo Play will be a single SIM smartphone and will support 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS/ aGPS. the device features 4GB of internal storage, expandable by up to 32GB via microSD card and 2000 mAh battery. the company is also offering a free 16Gb Micro SD with every pre booked device.
xolo play is priced at INR 15999 (~$300)
The tegra 3 chipset is known for its gaming performance and powers many high-end phones.
If Xolo plays it right ,this could be the next bestseller.
